What is twitchcontrolsmypc?
A real computer that chat runs together. Type a command in
Twitch chat and the PC does it, live on stream. Everyone's on the same machine at once, so it gets chaotic fast. New here? The
commands page lists everything you can try.
Is it really a real computer?
It is. A real Windows install running as a VM on actual hardware, not a simulation. You can download things, open programs, whatever you'd do on a normal PC. (Maybe skip the malware.)
How do I start controlling it?
Just type a command in chat, no signup or anything. Start small with something like
left or
type hello, then dig through the full
commands list.
Can I play games on it?
Yeah, it's one of the best parts. Chat loves booting up games and playing them together, everyone fighting over the controls at once. Emulators and VMs are fine too, as long as it's stuff the accounts own. The
rules cover the specifics.
When is it live?
Usually Monday to Friday around 5PM CDT, weekends a bit earlier around 2PM CDT. Schedules shift sometimes, so the
Twitch channel and our
Discord are the best places to check.
Why isn't my command working?
Usually something small. Commands run on a delay from stream lag, so give it a second. If Twitch blocks you from sending the same command twice in a row, change the capitalization and the bot reads it either way. And mobile can be laggy (iOS especially), so a PC will feel a lot smoother.
What gets me banned or timed out?
Mostly the big stuff in the
rules: anything illegal, trying to crash the stream or PC, piracy, or ban-dodging with alts. Small slip-ups are usually just a quick timeout; bans are for the bigger things. Mods step in when something looks risky, and you can flag them with
!modalert. The
rules are short, worth a read.
I got banned. How do I appeal?
Use the appeal form and we'll take a look. Don't ask in our
Discord or on YouTube, since that can accidentally get you banned there too. If it was a mix-up, the form is the fastest way to sort it.
What's it running on?
A VM under Proxmox on real hardware, so the stream box stays isolated from the host. Decent specs too, usually a mid-to-high-end GPU, a good core count, and plenty of RAM and SSD, enough that chat can hammer it without it falling over. Spot a bug or security hole? Drop it in our
Discord.
Whose PC and accounts are these?
A dedicated VM for the stream, not anyone's personal machine, and the accounts belong to the stream rather than a real person. Chat made most of them over the years, some dating back to the first season in 2021, and people have gifted plenty since: Steam games, Minecraft, Robux on Roblox, and more. One warning though, don't log into your own accounts or type real passwords on it, since everything on screen is live to chat.
Can I suggest a command?
Yeah, a lot of the best ones came straight from chat. Drop your ideas in our
Discord and they might end up in the bot.
Where do I ask something else?
Anything we didn't cover, ask in our
Discord. Questions and bug reports both work.
